Requirements
- Essential: Care Certificate upon appointment or within 12 weeks of starting.
- Essential: Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE English and Maths Grade D–G).
- Desirable: NVQ Level 2 in Healthcare or Level 2 Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship.
- Essential: Good communication and basic IT skills.
- Desirable: Organisational ability and commitment to continuous professional development.
- Experience: Previous work with the public or a strong desire to serve in healthcare.
Salary Details
This role is offered at Band 3, with a salary range of £24,937 – £26,598 pro rata per year, depending on experience.
About the Role
You’ll join Ward G4, a dynamic surgical ward where teamwork and compassion drive care. The role involves supporting patients undergoing a range of surgical interventions, including stoma care, and ensuring both their physical and emotional needs are met.
Every shift will test and strengthen your ability to provide comfort, maintain safety, and help patients regain independence. While it’s fast-paced, the reward lies in seeing tangible progress in the people you care for.
You’ll receive hands-on training and mentoring from experienced nurses and colorectal specialists, making this a perfect stepping stone for those eager to build a long-term healthcare career.
