Key Responsibilities
As a Health Care Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:

  • Personal Care and Support: Assist clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and independence.
  • Care Plan Implementation: Follow individual care plans and tailor them to meet the specific needs of each client.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications as prescribed, monitoring clients for any side effects or changes in their condition.

  • Mobility and Heavy Lifting Support: Assist with mobility support and engage in physical tasks, including lifting, for clients with mobility limitations.

  • Engagement in Social Activities: Encourage and support clients to participate in social activities, promoting their mental health and emotional well-being.

Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, experience, and skills:

Qualifications

  • Preferred: GCSE or equivalent.
  • Desirable: Certification in First Aid and experience in a healthcare setting.

Experience

  • Preferred: At least one year of experience as a Support Worker or in public health settings, especially within nursing homes or assisted living facilities.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of medical terminology for effective communication within the healthcare team.
  • Ability to follow care plans and assist with medication administration.
  • Capability to perform physical tasks, such as heavy lifting, to support clients with mobility needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Additional Requirements

  • A driving licence is preferred for transporting clients when necessary.
