Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
As a Health Care Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
- Personal Care and Support: Assist clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and independence.
- Care Plan Implementation: Follow individual care plans and tailor them to meet the specific needs of each client.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications as prescribed, monitoring clients for any side effects or changes in their condition.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of client progress, reporting any concerns to appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Mobility and Heavy Lifting Support: Assist with mobility support and engage in physical tasks, including lifting, for clients with mobility limitations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with nursing staff and case management teams to ensure the delivery of comprehensive, high-quality care.
- Engagement in Social Activities: Encourage and support clients to participate in social activities, promoting their mental health and emotional well-being.

Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, experience, and skills:
Qualifications
- Preferred: GCSE or equivalent.
- Desirable: Certification in First Aid and experience in a healthcare setting.
Experience
- Preferred: At least one year of experience as a Support Worker or in public health settings, especially within nursing homes or assisted living facilities.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of medical terminology for effective communication within the healthcare team.
- Ability to follow care plans and assist with medication administration.
- Capability to perform physical tasks, such as heavy lifting, to support clients with mobility needs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
