Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
  • GCSE Maths & English Grade C or above
  • Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a GP practice
  • Good communication and organizational skills

  • Knowledge of Emis Web and clinical IT systems (desirable)

About the Role:
As a Healthcare Assistant, the successful candidate will support the clinical team in delivering patient care under the guidance of the Practice Nurses and Nurse Lead. Responsibilities include conducting health checks, ECG recording, phlebotomy, and administering vaccinations. The role spans across two sites: Plas Menai Health Centre and Gyffin & Llys Meddyg Surgery, contributing to patient care, data collection, and health promotion initiatives. Candidates should be dedicated to patient well-being and willing to participate in ongoing professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct new patient health checks and ECG recordings
  • Assist with phlebotomy and chaperoning duties
  • Manage laboratory samples and vaccine storage
  • Ensure consulting rooms are stocked and prepared
  • Support GPs in minor operations and patient assessments
  • Administer influenza, pneumococcal, and B12 injections
  • Provide smoking cessation advice
