The Role: Hospital Housekeeper
Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a dedicated Housekeeper to join their team on M2, a Respiratory Ward within the GRaDE care group (Gastro Respiratory and Diabetes Endocrinology). This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in patient care by providing a friendly, clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients and ward staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure bed areas are clean and prepared for new patients
- Care for and clean equipment
- Clean and make beds
- Maintain patients’ lockers and bed areas
- Assist patients with meal choices as directed by the Nurse in Charge
- Help with setting tables, serving meals, cleaning crockery, and replenishing water jugs
What They’re Looking For
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade D/3 or above
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work within a team and use own initiative
- Experience in a customer service environment
- Familiarity with Microsoft packages and information systems
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload
- Approachable manner and understanding of workplace confidentiality
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in a caring or hotel/catering environment
- Clerical / IT qualification or relevant experience
- Working towards Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) level 2 or 3 (NVQ2/3)
- Experience at a supervisory level
