Requirements:
- Food Hygiene Certificate level 2 (or willingness to obtain within agreed timescale)
- Numeracy, Literacy, and IT skills at level 2 (equivalent to GCSE grades 9 to 4)
- Experience in cleaning duties and use of chemicals and equipment
- Experience of working or volunteering in a Mental Health and Learning Disabilities environment
- Ability to provide a positive approach when working with diverse client groups
- NVQ Level 2 Housekeeping (desirable)
Salary Details: The role offers a salary of £22,383 per annum, pro-rata for part-time hours. The position falls under Band 2 of the NHS Agenda for Change pay scheme.
About the Role
The Housekeeper role at TEWV is crucial in maintaining a clean, safe, and supportive environment for staff and patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing and maintaining cleaning and catering services as part of the Hotel Services team. This position requires a passionate and enthusiastic individual who puts patients at the heart of everything they do.
Working at West Park Hospital, the Housekeeper will be an integral part of the team contributing to the Trust’s mission of nurturing the recovery journey of anyone in need of their help. The role involves working shifts between 7am-6pm, requiring flexibility and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality cleaning services in office, patient, and communal areas
- Assist with catering services, including food preparation and serving
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and materials safely and efficiently
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and COSHH guidelines
- Maintain a thorough understanding of deep-cleaning procedures
- Contribute to maintaining National Standards of Cleanliness
- Participate in Patient-Led Assessment of the Care Environment (PLACE) initiatives
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills in interactions with staff and patients
- Work collaboratively within a multi-professional team
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
