This role is a Band 4 post offering £27,485 to £30,162 per year in line with NHS Agenda for Change.
About the Role
This is a role for someone who wants to help families make confident and informed choices about infant feeding. You’ll work across maternity and neonatal services, providing one-to-one breastfeeding support, promoting responsive bottle-feeding where needed, and making sure every family feels empowered in their journey.
You’ll support pregnant women with clear, evidence-based advice during antenatal appointments, as well as new mothers on postnatal wards. By working alongside midwives, neonatal nurses, and community teams, you’ll be part of a joined-up effort to increase breastfeeding initiation and duration. The work goes beyond day-to-day support, as you’ll contribute to audits, education, and community awareness. Every interaction matters because the advice you give has the potential to influence both short-term health and long-term wellbeing.

- Support families to initiate and sustain breastfeeding so that babies get the best start
- Provide information on responsive bottle-feeding where this is the chosen method

- Deliver breastfeeding promotion initiatives that encourage community awareness
