Requirements

  • 4+ years’ experience in a relevant technical server role
  • Hands-on expertise with Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure, O365, and Hyper-V
  • Experience managing enterprise infrastructure environments and data centres
  • Strong scripting skills, especially PowerShell
  • Track record of leading or mentoring IT engineers
  • A degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
  • Commitment to continuous learning and quality patient-focused service

About the Role

This Infrastructure Server Specialist post isn’t just another tech role. It’s about helping keep the Trust’s digital backbone secure, efficient, and ahead of the curve. You’ll be stepping into a hands-on technical lead position, directly shaping the way servers and systems support care delivery.

You’ll manage critical infrastructure systems, including storage, virtual environments, and cloud services. From VMware to Microsoft technologies, your know-how will keep things running smoothly and securely. You’ll also provide mentorship to engineers and work closely with the Infrastructure Manager on planning and project rollouts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead infrastructure management to ensure secure, high-performing systems
  • Oversee virtual environments like Hyper-V, ESXi, and Azure

  • Guide two Server Engineers and a Platform Engineer in daily operations
  • Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, File Systems, and data protection platforms
  • Support strategic IT planning that aligns with healthcare goals
  • Drive server automation and deployment using scripting tools like PowerShell
  • Maintain system reliability through backup, antivirus, and disaster recovery planning
