Job Description:

Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in providing specialized care within our oncology or surgery/plastic surgery departments. Applicants who require Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

  • Essential: NMC registration, relevant post-basic education related to the position, and evidence of continued professional development.
  • Desirable: Cancer course completion, counseling qualifications, education to 1st or 2nd degree level or actively working towards it.

Experience:

  • Essential: Recent post-registration experience in oncology or surgery/plastic surgery and demonstrable excellent communication skills.
  • Desirable: Previous experience specifically in plastic surgery/surgery or oncology.

Skills, Knowledge, and Ability:

  • Essential: Proficiency in counseling, autonomous practice, IT, organizational skills, workload prioritization, effective time management, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be confident, assertive, and approachable.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of oncology therapies/treatments and surgical treatments.

Other Requirements:

  • Essential: Team player with strong patient advocacy skills, flexible to meet service needs, and willingness to undertake further qualifications as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage care plans and ensure the highest standards of care.
  • Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet the demands of the department.
  • Utilize IT systems to maintain accurate records and support clinical decisions.
  • Engage with patients, providing counseling and support throughout their treatment.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
