About the Role

As a Deputy Manager, you will play a crucial role in both the management team and in hands-on care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing care and supervision in the home.
  • Completing management tasks during assigned supernumerary time.
  • Leading shifts and supporting both day and night teams during handovers.
  • Assisting residents with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene, dressing, and meals.
  • Supporting management functions such as supervisions, observations, rota planning, medication audits, and end-of-month medication management.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend staff meetings.
  • Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing needs of the home.
  • Ensure a thorough understanding of safeguarding responsibilities, reducing the risk of abuse or neglect for adults in need of care.
  • Adhere to fire procedures and health and safety legislation.
  • Complete all required training as determined by the home.

About You

  • Good Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and the management team.
  • Previous Experience: Experience in a care home environment is desirable but not essential.
  • Committed and Organized Approach: A dedication to providing the best care and support.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work shifts, including weekends.
  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 as a minimum (or working towards).
  • Availability: Willingness to work on-call within the management team.
