Job Description:

The Cybersecurity Intern at BAE Systems will play a crucial role in supporting cybersecurity systems or software development for various projects aimed at enhancing defense capabilities. Interns will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, conduct cybersecurity analysis, and contribute to the development of risk mitigation plans and certification efforts. Additionally, interns will have the opportunity to explore the latest cybersecurity tools and technologies while receiving mentorship from senior cybersecurity engineers.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform cybersecurity engineering tasks on embedded systems for military vehicle development programs.
  • Analyze cybersecurity requirements, support risk mitigation planning, and assist in certification test and evaluation efforts.
  • Research and evaluate cybersecurity tools and technologies, including prevention, penetration/hacking, modeling, and scanning tools.
  • Conduct network scans using existing scanning tools and assist in technical discussions and task planning.
  • Receive mentorship from senior cybersecurity engineers and actively participate in team meetings and project discussions.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment and excellent communication skills.
  • Strong system or network-level thinking skills and proficiency in technical communication.
  • Familiarity with vehicle electronic architecture diagrams and cybersecurity concepts.

Preferred:

  • Completion of at least 90 total credits or Junior Year of undergraduate coursework.
  • Experience with Linux Operating System (OS) and scripting, embedded systems, and A&A tools.
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) / Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and automotive communications protocols.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Network+.

Pay Information:

  • Full-Time Salary Range: $47,216 – $63,752 per year.
