Requirements
- DCR(T) or BSc in Therapeutic Radiography – Or an equivalent qualification
- HCPC registration – Or pending if qualifying summer 2025
- Confident using imaging and verification systems – With solid understanding of complex radiotherapy techniques
- Experience in patient-focused radiotherapy care – Especially in communicating with anxious patients
- Clear understanding of IR(ME)R regulations – And how they apply in clinical settings
- Team-player mindset – With willingness to rotate across departments and support on-call schedules
Salary Details
This role offers a competitive salary between £35,964 and £43,780 per year, aligned with NHS Band 5 pay scale. Additional on-call and shift allowances may apply.
About the Role
This Band 5 Therapy Radiographer role is more than a treatment post — it’s an open door to impactful work in one of London’s leading radiotherapy teams. They’ve just launched SGRT on their newest linac, and their SABR programme is now in full swing. There’s also the chance to support SRS, TBI, TLNI, and dedicated brachytherapy services. The department boasts five TrueBeam Linacs, a Siemens Open go.Pro CT scanner, an Elekta Flexitron unit, and soon, the Accuray Radixact system. Sound exciting? That’s because it is. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver radiotherapy in line with IR(ME)R and clinical guidelines
- Interpret prescriptions, plans, and imaging independently and accurately
- Rotate across treatment and planning pathways
- Document treatment records and participate in QA checks
- Contribute to patient wellbeing by managing side effects and concerns
- Support the emergency on-call rota when required
- Collaborate with clinical oncologists and medical physics experts
- Drive consistency by helping standardise treatment protocols
