Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience in healthcare.
  • Experience working in a hospital or primary care setting.
  • Competence in taking blood pressures, ECGs, and other observations.
  • Knowledge of wound care procedures.
  • A compassionate, non-judgmental, and open approach to patient care.
  • Willingness to undertake National Security Vetting.
  • Ability to provide 5 years of address history and relevant documentation (see IMPORTANT INFORMATION below).

As a Healthcare Assistant, you’ll be part of the primary care team, working alongside nurses and other healthcare professionals. You’ll provide physical care, assist with health promotion activities, and help patients achieve optimal health and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality nursing care to patients within a secure environment.
  • Providing physical care according to care plans, taking into account patients’ holistic needs.
  • Promoting health and well-being through health promotion programs. Your efforts will empower patients to make positive changes in their lives.
  • Responding to patient needs and assisting with physical procedures as needed. Your responsiveness will ensure patients receive timely and appropriate care.
  • Engaging with patients in a respectful and non-judgmental manner.
  • Contributing to risk assessments and individualized care planning. Your input will help ensure patient safety and well-being within the prison setting.
