Key Responsibilities

Robotics & Automation Development

• Design and implement robotic mechanisms for autonomous payload handling, loading, and unloading.

Mechatronics System Integration

• Develop and integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components for drone docking and handling systems.

Software Engineering

• Develop embedded software and control algorithms for robotic systems and drone communication interfaces.

Prototyping & Testing

• Build and test proof-of-concept systems.
• Troubleshoot issues and optimize performance for real-world deployment.

Collaboration

• Work closely with internal and external partners (e.g., Altitude Angel and MarchantCain) to develop seamless automated solutions.

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure systems comply with aerospace and healthcare logistics regulations.

Data & Performance Analysis

• Implement monitoring solutions for real-time tracking and system optimization.

Software Development

• Support Skyfarer’s proprietary software development activity.
• Contribute to various software engineering tasks beyond the ESA project.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain technical documentation and system architecture designs.
• Contribute to project progress reports.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

• Degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Software Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Experience in robotics, automation, or autonomous systems development.
• Strong software development skills in Python, C++, or ROS (Robot Operating System).
• Experience with embedded systems and microcontroller programming.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical system design, including actuators, sensors, and motion control.
• Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping, 3D printing, and hardware integration.
• Understanding of computer vision, AI, or machine learning for automation applications (preferred).
• Experience with cloud-based IoT platforms, data logging, and analytics (desirable).
• Ability to work independently, solve complex technical challenges, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
