Requirements

  • NMC Registration as RMN or RGN.
  • Evidence of team working, communication, and IT skills.
  • Open to newly qualified or experienced nurses.
  • A positive mindset toward continuous learning and patient-centred care.
  • Desirable: mentorship qualification and six months’ post-registration experience.

Salary Details

This Band 5 role offers between £32,602 and £39,686 annually, including a 5% High Cost Area Supplement, under the Agenda for Change pay scheme.

About the Role

You’ll join the team at The Meadows, West Park Hospital, a 24-bed unit dedicated to supporting people aged 65 and over with dementia and organic mental ill-health. Working across three single-sex wards, you’ll assess, plan, and deliver care for individuals in acute phases of their illness.

Your nursing expertise will be the steady hand guiding patients through crisis and recovery. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring care plans reflect each patient’s needs, and that families remain involved and supported. This is more than nursing—it’s about helping people rebuild their strength and rediscover moments of peace and connection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, high-quality care to individuals in acute mental health settings, improving safety and comfort.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and contribute to care planning that supports long-term recovery.
  • Collaborate with occupational therapists, psychologists, and doctors to deliver integrated care.
  • Support carers and families with guidance, empathy, and education.
