Requirements

  • Must be male, due to a genuine occupational requirement under the Equality Act
  • Experience supporting people with mental health needs, autism, learning disabilities, or challenging behaviours
  • Confidence in lone working while contributing to a wider team
  • Willingness to be trained in safe restraint and positive behaviour management
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, and creative approach to support
  • Commitment to personal and professional development
  • Strong empathy and understanding of person-centred care
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle due to limited public transport
  • Must live within commutable distance of Spalding

Desirable:

  • Experience with epilepsy and administration of Buccal Midazolam (training provided)
  • Prior work in forensic mental health, supported living, or residential care
  • Holding an NVQ qualification or Care Certificate (training offered if not)

Salary Details

Pay rates are competitive and depend on qualifications, experience, and shift patterns. Overtime and progression opportunities are available.

About the Role

As a Mental Health Support Worker, you’ll help individuals with complex needs live safer, happier, and more fulfilling lives. Working within homes in Holbeach near Spalding, you’ll provide hands-on support tailored to each person’s goals and routines.

From daily living assistance to helping service users engage in community activities like biking, swimming, or fishing, every moment you share contributes to building trust, confidence, and independence. You’ll work closely with clinical teams and develop skills in risk management, care planning, and behavioural support.
