Salary Details

This is a Band 4 NHS post, paying between £27,485 and £30,162 per year, aligned with the Agenda for Change pay structure.

About the Role

This one’s all about getting out there.

You’ll be delivering practical mouth care training to clinical and non-clinical staff across hospitals, health centres, schools, and community spaces. From demonstrating brushing techniques to educating carers on dry mouth support, your work will impact both professionals and the public.

You’ll work closely with the Mouth Care Lead Dental Nurse, becoming the go-to for all things oral hygiene in the community. Every session you run is a chance to inform, inspire, and improve someone’s care journey. Sound like something you’d be proud of?

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver mouth care training to NHS staff in community and hospital settings
  • Support patients, carers, and families with personalised oral health advice
  • Travel across Northumbria sites to expand access to training
  • Promote NHS-approved dental care products and practices
  • Encourage quality improvement and team collaboration through role modelling
  • Help shape a future where oral health is no longer overlooked
