Requirements

• Degree in Naval Architecture or related field
• Membership in the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA)
• Relevant experience in a shipyard or design office
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software
• Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills
• Commercial awareness and meticulous attention to detail

About the Role
The Naval Architect will be a key member of the Special Projects Team at North Star Shipping, responsible for vessel design, modifications, and supporting new construction initiatives. This role involves working closely with design and engineering teams to deliver projects that meet client requirements and align with North Star’s operational and environmental strategies. The successful candidate will provide technical advice, develop test procedures, and support the implementation of new technologies aimed at enhancing vessel performance and sustainability. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate on vessel design and modifications
• Support new construction teams with technical expertise
• Develop and review detailed drawings using AutoCAD
• Contribute to sustainability reports and environmental initiatives
• Engage in project budgeting, timelines, and client communications
• Provide technical support for vessel repairs and operational challenges
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders
