Requirements
- Professional qualification in occupational therapy (or pending)
- Current HCPC registration (or pending)
- IELTS Level 7 for international recruits
- Experience in occupational therapy placements or postgraduate practice
- Awareness of professional standards and how they apply to daily care
- Understanding of the needs of service users with mental health conditions or learning disabilities
- Commitment to person-centred, evidence-based care
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting
Salary Details
The salary for this role is £31,049 – £37,796 per year, aligned with NHS pay scales, with incremental progression opportunities.
About the Role
This role places the Occupational Therapist at the centre of service delivery. They will assess occupational performance, co-produce personal goals, and deliver interventions that improve daily life for service users. From helping people manage self-care and productivity to supporting leisure activities, the role is grounded in meaningful, client-centred practice.
The Occupational Therapist will be part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to service improvement, supporting quality initiatives, and ensuring accurate record-keeping through the Trust’s electronic systems. Each day brings new challenges and opportunities to use creativity and evidence-based approaches to make care more effective. It’s a role where every decision matters because it has a direct impact on the quality of life for people who need it most.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and respond to referrals for occupational therapy to provide timely support
- Carry out evidence-based assessments and interventions that address self-care, productivity, and leisure
- Co-produce occupational goals with service users and review progress collaboratively
- Contribute to multidisciplinary team working to deliver holistic care
- Support service improvement initiatives that enhance outcomes for service users
- Maintain accurate documentation using the Trust’s electronic patient record system
- Respond flexibly and creatively to the varied challenges of service delivery
