About the Role
This isn’t just another assistant role. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner, you’ll be right at the heart of helping people with complex psychosis regain their independence. You’ll work side-by-side with an experienced Occupational Therapist, bringing therapeutic activities to life across group and one-on-one settings. Your day might include co-facilitating assessments, designing recovery-focused sessions, or helping someone take a meaningful step toward stability and confidence.
What sets this apart is the impact. You’re not clocking in and out — you’re part of a supportive work environment where every action matters. You’ll need to be flexible, patient, and creative. But if that sounds like your kind of challenge, this could be your moment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support therapeutic activities across both group and individual sessions
- Assist in occupational assessments and follow-up interventions
- Promote independence for patients managing complex mental health conditions
- Contribute to a multidisciplinary team focused on rehabilitation and recovery
- Handle unpredictable situations with calm, compassionate professionalism
- Build rapport with service users, families, and carers to strengthen care plans
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This role is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1975. They’ll request a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check before you start.
Certificate of Sponsorship
Applications from job seekers who require current Skilled Worker sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. For further information visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.
From 6 April 2017, skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, have had to present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) are also subject to this requirement.
