- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in child development
- Level 3 Child Protection certificate
- Willingness to undertake training in continence
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Experience working with children in community or clinical settings

Salary Details
They’re offering £26,530 to £29,114 per year, aligned with NHS Band 4 pay.
About the Role
As a Paediatric Continence Associate Practitioner, you’ll become a trusted guide to families dealing with bladder and bowel care issues across Plymouth and West Devon. Every day, you’ll bring clarity and confidence into situations that can be overwhelming for children and carers alike. Based at the Child Development Centre, you’ll also make home and school visits, partnering across agencies to give each child the best chance at improvement.
Your days will be filled with investigative work, one-on-one clinics, and collaborative planning. You’ll design and deliver care plans rooted in best practices and real empathy. It’s hands-on, heart-first work where your voice and instincts count.
Key Responsibilities
- Run assessment clinics and follow-up appointments with families
- Carry out bladder and bowel investigations with care and sensitivity
- Create individualised care plans tailored to each child’s needs
- Support multi-agency collaboration, including visits to homes and schools
- Keep accurate, timely records and share insights with the broader team
- Work within evidence-based frameworks to shape clinical outcomes
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This role falls under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. A DBS check is required to identify any prior criminal convictions.
