Requirements
- Recognised NVQ/QCF Level 4 or Level 3 plus equivalent diploma or training
- Health or Social Care experience, ideally with children
- Strong people skills with the ability to work one-on-one or with groups
- Solid organisation and communication abilities
- Comfortable using digital tools and systems
- A flexible and self-motivated attitude
- Full UK driving licence with ability to travel between sites
Salary Details
This role offers a competitive NHS Band 4 salary ranging from £26,928 to £29,551 annually, depending on experience.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role based mainly at Ysgol Y Deri, a special school in the Vale. You’ll also visit mainstream schools and home settings to support rehabilitation and manage specialist equipment. From postural assessments to hydrotherapy sessions, you’ll help children and young people move better and feel stronger. It’s ideal for someone who loves being active, thrives in a team, and values making a visible difference every day.
With mentorship from the clinical lead and the backing of a skilled therapies team, you’ll play a vital part in shaping young lives through physiotherapy. Whether it’s assisting with orthopaedic clinics or tailoring sleep systems for home care, your input will ripple across their care journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver rehab support in clinics, hydro sessions, and group classes
- Visit schools and homes to adjust and assess walking frames, gait tools, and postural systems
- Support classroom-based physiotherapy alongside education staff
- Manage and maintain complex care equipment, including standing frames and sleep systems
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes nurses, OTs, orthotists, and dieticians
- Take ownership of a small caseload and ensure consistent care coordination
- Handle admin related to clinics, equipment orders, and documentation
