About the Role
This paediatric speech and language therapy assistant role sits in their Complex Needs team, where no two days feel the same. It’s a mix of hands-on support and creative work. From helping therapists during assessments to running small-group sessions, you’ll be part of how children find their voices.
You’ll also work with feeding support programmes and create personalised therapy resources like visual aids or communication books. It’s practical, it’s varied, and yes, it makes a real difference. Many of the children are under five, so early input is everything.
It’s the kind of job where your personality matters just as much as your paperwork. If you love working closely with families, adapting on the fly, and building trust, this is a place to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Run therapy programmes in community and virtual settings
- Support therapists with assessments and session delivery
- Deliver group work and track child progress with real-time feedback
- Prepare and create therapy tools and learning aids
- Help lead parent workshops and community outreach events
- Stay flexible and responsive to children’s changing needs
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This role requires a DBS check in line with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
