About the Role

As a Paint Prepper (Surface Finish Technician 3) at RAF Marham, you’ll prepare aircraft and Defence equipment for repainting using manual, chemical, and media methods. You’ll ensure every surface meets the exact standards required for operational readiness.

No prior specialist skills are needed, just a positive attitude and attention to detail. Serco provides full training, so you’ll gain valuable technical knowledge while contributing to the safety and reliability of aircraft and ground assets.

You’ll work closely with skilled engineers, learning how to apply strict safety protocols like COSHH and risk assessments. It’s steady work that rewards precision, patience, and pride in craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting using approved techniques to meet Defence quality standards
• Follow health and safety procedures including COSHH and risk assessments to ensure a safe workplace
• Handle and store paints and chemicals correctly to maintain compliance and reduce waste
• Report and challenge unsafe behaviour to uphold a safety-first culture
• Work collaboratively with technicians and supervisors to maintain smooth workflow and operational support
• Complete all work documentation accurately to meet audit and quality requirements
