Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in Community or Social Work, Counselling, or Education
• Two years of experience working with immigrant communities or a suitable combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of temporary housing and related services in the GTA
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Valid driver’s license preferred

• Part-time, 16 hours/week, scheduled for weekends

About the Role

The Logistics Worker will support the temporary accommodation of asylum claimants at the assigned facility in Peel Region. Responsibilities include client orientation, intake procedures, and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of clients. The worker will also manage logistics related to hygiene items, food supply, and regular check-ins. Communication skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct intake and discharge processes in the Housing Technology System
• Provide client orientation and support
• Coordinate transfers from respite facilities to community shelters
• Maintain accurate records and reports
• Ensure cleanliness and proper hygiene practices
• Assist clients in their housing search
• Manage food distribution and dietary restrictions
