Requirements
- NVQ 3 or equivalent in pharmaceutical sciences
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Experience in hospital pharmacy, including ward top-ups, aseptic and outpatient dispensing
- Good communication and prioritisation skills
- Comfortable working both independently and in a team
- Willingness to work on a weekend rota when needed
- Evidence of CPD and commitment to development
Bonus if you have:
- Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician qualification
- Community pharmacy experience
Salary Details
Starting from £26,530, rising to £29,114 based on experience and qualifications
About the Role
They’re looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join their inpatient and outpatient service teams. You’ll be handling prescriptions, including TTOs and extemporaneous formulations, while also supporting the ward team with medicines reconciliation and discharge prep. The work is fast-paced but fulfilling, and you’ll be empowered by hands-on training, accuracy checking responsibilities, and ongoing skill-building. You’ll rotate across departments and support medication safety and workflow efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
- Dispense a wide range of prescriptions including inpatient, outpatient, and controlled drugs
- Assist with ward medicines management and drug history taking
- Use in-house discharge systems to prep TTOs
- Rotate through dispensary roles and check work for accuracy
- Use prescription tracker tools to monitor and support efficient workflow
- Maintain a safe, consistent approach to all pharmaceutical services
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This position requires a criminal record check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. A DBS submission will be made for this role.
