Requirements

  • Associate Practitioner qualification (or working towards it)
  • Experience in primary or secondary care within the NHS
  • Strong communication skills with patients, carers and colleagues
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Understanding of physical health monitoring and mental health conditions
  • Desirable: Experience with eating disorders and knowledge of health screening procedures

Salary Details

Youโ€™ll earn between ยฃ27,485 and ยฃ30,162 per annum, reflecting your experience and the responsibility of this role. As part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay scheme, youโ€™ll also benefit from annual pay reviews and career development support.

About the Role

As a Physical Health Support Worker, youโ€™ll play a vital role in the Care and Education of Adolescents with Eating Disorders Service (CAEDS). Youโ€™ll carry out physical health checks including ECGs, phlebotomy, blood glucose monitoring and other essential tests to track patientsโ€™ wellbeing. Working closely with specialist clinicians, youโ€™ll help shape co-produced care plans that support recovery and self-management.

Your days will be varied, balancing autonomy with team support. Youโ€™ll link up with mental health teams, acute hospitals and community partners to make sure each patient gets joined-up care. This role suits someone who values patient connection, growth and impactful work within a multi-disciplinary environment.

  • Carry out routine and advanced health checks to monitor patientsโ€™ physical wellbeing
  • Record and interpret results accurately to inform treatment decisions

  • Follow EPUT policies to ensure safe practice and risk management
