About the Role
This role supports patient care by keeping point of care testing safe smooth and reliable. You’ll help staff in primary and secondary care use their testing equipment correctly so results stay accurate. You’ll guide teams through routine checks training steps and procedure updates. You’ll keep an eye on device performance and make sure everything follows local and national standards. The work matters because faster reliable testing helps clinicians make better choices for patients when time feels tight.
Key Responsibilities
- Support staff with training so they feel confident using POCT devices
- Carry out competency checks which protect the quality of patient results
- Maintain device performance so clinical teams can trust the readings
- Complete audits that highlight risks and keep standards high
- Help with stock and record keeping which prevents delays in care
- Assist with accreditation tasks that protect service safety
