Job Summary

The NHS Business Services Authority is seeking a Quality Information Analyst to join the Health Exemption Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for extracting, analysing, and presenting highly complex data to internal and external stakeholders. They will support business-critical decision-making by delivering analytical products, complex modelling, and management reporting insights.

This role offers flexible working arrangements, including remote work or office-based work in Newcastle, with occasional requirements to attend the office.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Extract, analyse, and present highly complex data to support decision-making.
  • Develop analytical models to generate management information and business insights.
  • Maintain and enhance reporting suites to ensure quality information delivery.
  • Provide expert advice and insight tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality in data reporting.
  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • A degree in data analysis or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience/training.

Desirable:

  • A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline.

Knowledge, Skills & Personal Qualities

Essential:

  • Strong ability to interpret and critically appraise highly complex data.
  • Expertise in database interrogation to obtain and analyse data.
  • Logical and analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to present technical concepts clearly to varied audiences.
  • Proficiency in database, statistical, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently within set parameters.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present findings confidently.
  • Experience working on multiple tasks in a fast-changing environment.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and meet stringent deadlines.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working with minimal supervision.

Desirable:

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with business intelligence (BI) tools.
  • Ability to identify future business needs and opportunities.

Experience

Essential:

  • In-depth specialist knowledge of information and quality analysis.
  • Extensive experience in data collection, validation, and analysis.
  • Experience working in a business reporting environment.
  • Ability to resolve highly complex data queries.
  • Strong understanding of data quality principles.
  • Experience in advising business areas on data insights and reporting.
  • Practical experience in developing dashboards and reporting tools.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in the NHS or a large organisation.
  • Experience handling sensitive data.
  • Proficiency with data reporting tools such as Oracle OBIE or other BI tools.
