Requirements
- Relevant NVQ Level 3 in Care or an AVCE in Health and Social Care
- Numeracy, literacy and ITQ Level 2 or equivalent
- Experience running group or 1:1 therapeutic or recreational activities
- Awareness of the Recovery model and CHIME principles
- Sensitivity to the needs of diverse service users
- Ability to communicate clearly, plan sessions, and document outcomes
- A flexible, compassionate mindset and strong sense of teamwork
Salary Details
This is a Band 3 NHS role, offering £24,071 to £25,674 per year, paid pro-rata for 22.5 hours a week. The role covers weekdays and bank holidays on a rota basis.

You’ll plan and deliver therapeutic sessions—like crafts, sports, social groups, and gardening—that connect people with their hobbies, skills, and ambitions. Whether you’re guiding someone through a new craft or helping them build the confidence to attend a Recovery College session, your work adds real meaning to the recovery process.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop creative, educational, and social activities to support recovery
- Deliver group sessions and one-to-one support that match individual care plans
- Work with staff from AHPs to nurses to align activity with clinical goals
- Promote physical and emotional wellbeing through engagement and stimulation
- Guide individuals in pursuing vocational interests or personal growth
- Support delivery of Recovery College programmes and wider community involvement
- Monitor participation and wellbeing, documenting outcomes and progress
- Adapt activities for individuals with mental health needs, LD, or autism
