Requirements
- Degree in business intelligence, informatics or similar, or equivalent work experience
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft SQL Server
- Skilled in creating clean, compelling data dashboards and visual reports
- Able to manage your own workload and stay calm under pressure
- Confident working with both tech and non-tech teams to meet real business needs
- Bonus points for knowledge of NHS data models, SSIS, or ITIL environments
Salary Details
This role pays between £42,939 and £50,697 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. It comes with all the added perks of working within the NHS pay structure, including pension and annual increments.
About the Role
This isn’t just a reporting job. As a Report and Dashboard Developer, you’ll be transforming complex data into meaningful visuals that help drive clinical and operational decisions. You’ll join the Informatics team in their Digital Services directorate, where the focus is on clarity, speed, and impact. Whether it’s self-service dashboards for clinical staff or in-depth insights for senior leaders, your work will help shape the direction of care across South London.
And the tools? You’ll be working with Power BI, SQL Server, and other Microsoft tech. But more than that, you’ll be part of a team that actually cares about making healthcare better through smart, accessible data.
Key Responsibilities
- Design clear, modern dashboards that turn numbers into action
- Build flexible, self-serve reports to support decision-making at every level
- Collaborate with clinical and operational staff to understand what really matters
- Create documentation that’s useful, readable, and actually gets used
- Maintain and improve the Trust’s reporting systems so they stay reliable and accurate
- Translate technical solutions into something everyone can understand
- Use smart problem-solving to fix data issues and improve data quality
