About the Role
This isn’t just another developer gig. As a Research Software Developer, you’ll be creating full stack ASP.NET web applications that allow researchers to capture, visualise, and analyse clinical data. These tools don’t just stay on a dashboard—they inform real-world decisions in emergency care across London.
You’ll team up with data scientists, research managers, and stakeholders to build tools from scratch, maintain existing systems, and support clinicians with technology that genuinely matters. Think problem-solving at its most urgent, with every deployment helping frontline responders deliver better care.
From scoping to testing, deployment to support, you’ll lead technical work that keeps things moving. It’s a space where smart design, secure architecture, and good data practices all come together to make a measurable difference.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full stack development of ASP.NET tools for clinical data workflows
- Design applications that support real-time decision making and research
- Ensure data quality and explore automation opportunities
- Plan and implement updates with minimal downtime
- Manage and support SQL Server databases
- Write queries to support ad hoc data requests and reporting
- Monitor and troubleshoot web app performance
- Train and support end users, producing user guides and technical docs
- Balance multiple development projects with short turnaround support tasks
