Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Pharmacy – 4-year MPharm or equivalent
  • Registered with the GPhC – Or due to register by August 2025
  • Strong clinical judgment – Can apply pharmacy knowledge to real patient care
  • Great communicator – Clear, compassionate, and confident with patients and colleagues
  • Organised and adaptable – Can juggle multiple tasks in time-pressured situations

Salary Details

The banding offers competitive NHS rates: £37,338 to £52,809 depending on experience and progression. Plus, funded training and shift allowances.

You’ll join a close-knit team rotating across medicine, surgery, stroke, infectious diseases, renal, paediatrics, and more. Most of your time? Spent right where it matters – in clinical spaces, consulting with patients and colleagues, and shaping better care decisions.

From dispensary leadership during out-of-hours to hands-on medication reviews at night, you’ll be stretched, supported, and continually learning. This isn’t a passive role – it’s for pharmacists who want to lead from the frontline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, effective medicines optimisation during day and night shifts
  • Join the Hospital at Night team and help prioritise critical interventions
  • Record and review out-of-hours calls for governance and training
  • Carry out medicine reconciliations at transfer of care
  • Educate patients and staff on best use of medications
  • Lead audits and drive improvements in safety and service
  • Support clinical trials when applicable to your rotation
  • Train and mentor trainee pharmacists and new colleagues
  • Uphold professional standards and advocate for pharmacy excellence
