Requirements
- Education: Good general education, including English and Maths.
- Qualification: NVQ Level 3 in direct care or therapy discipline, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- Experience: Previous experience of nursing or working with nurses or physiotherapists.
- Desirable: Experience supervising group exercises or supporting respiratory patients.
- Skills: Excellent communication, organisation, teamwork, and self-motivation.
Salary Details
This role is Band 3 under the Agenda for Change pay scheme, offering £24,625 to £25,674 per annum, pro rata.
About the Role
As a Respiratory Support Worker, you’ll play a vital part in the Regional East Sussex Pulmonary Service (RESPS), helping patients manage their chronic respiratory conditions. Your work will support their independence, confidence, and overall wellbeing.
You’ll assist with pulmonary rehabilitation, oxygen therapy, and patient education across community and outpatient settings. Every day offers the chance to connect, uplift, and make a tangible difference in people’s health journeys.
Key Responsibilities
- Support delivery of pulmonary rehabilitation and oxygen therapy for respiratory patients.
- Assist nurses and physiotherapists in providing holistic, person-centred care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Monitor progress and contribute to treatment plans.
- Maintain patient safety and dignity in all interactions.
- Help patients understand how to manage their conditions for better quality of life.
