Requirements:

  • GCSE grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Current SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guard license.
  • Experience in dynamic risk assessment and appropriate action.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging behavior.
  • Strong customer care skills and experience.
  • Experience with teamwork and lone working.
  • Physical fitness for patrolling and responding to incidents.

About the Role:

As a Security Officer at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, you’ll be a key part of ensuring a safe and secure environment, focusing primarily on the Emergency Department. You’ll work afternoons and nights, providing a visible presence and responding to various situations. This is an opportunity to join a dynamic team where no two days are the same. Key Responsibilities:

  • Patrolling hospital sites and ensuring security.
  • Monitoring CCTV and responding to incidents.
  • Managing access control for departments and buildings.
  • Escorting and protecting staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Handling lost property and maintaining records.
  • Assisting with mortuary duties during out-of-hours periods.
  • Providing excellent customer service and assistance.
