Requirements
- Degree or diploma in procurement, CIPS or equivalent experience
- Experience working in a procurement or operational buying role
- Solid communication and negotiation skills
- Strong knowledge of purchasing principles and commercial awareness
- Ability to manage procurement projects with deadlines
- Confident user of MS Office, especially Excel
- Clean driving licence and flexibility to travel between NHS sites

This is a full-time role offering a competitive salary between 37,338 and 44,962 GBP annually, dependent on experience and qualifications.

This Senior Buyer post is more than a purchasing role. It’s about being part of a trusted procurement team that helps the NHS run smarter, better, and more efficiently. The position sits within One LSC Procurement, with a home base at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
You’ll handle strategic sourcing projects, ensure value for money, and support frontline teams with smart procurement decisions. This is where your impact will be felt across multiple NHS trusts. Working within a dedicated procurement tower, you’ll shape procurement outcomes, support compliance with UK and EU regulations, and contribute to wider service improvement goals.

Key Responsibilities
- Support procurement strategy through project delivery and cost-saving initiatives
- Lead and manage tendering, sourcing, and contract award processes
- Ensure legal compliance and governance are met in all purchasing activity
- Partner with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to meet trust objectives
- Drive value for money and operational efficiencies in sourcing goods and services
- Coach and support team members while working collaboratively across NHS trusts
- Analyse complex supply data and offer actionable insights
