Requirements
- SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
- Previous experience as a senior or lead care assistant
- Strong team leadership skills – can guide and support others with ease

About the Role
This isn’t your typical night shift. As a Senior Care Assistant, you’ll be the heart of the team during those quieter hours when residents need reassurance and quality care the most. You’ll guide care assistants, make sure every task is done to the highest standard, and support residents with everything from personal care to emotional wellbeing. You’ll also play a vital role in administering medication and updating care plans. This is a chance to lead with purpose and ensure that every person in your care feels safe and respected, even while the world sleeps.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead care delivery overnight, keeping things calm and controlled
- Support and guide care assistants on shift, making sure they’re confident and capable
- Deliver hands-on personal care with dignity and kindness
- Administer and record medications accurately
- Keep clear and precise care records for each resident
- Monitor vital signs and raise any concerns promptly
- Communicate clearly with family members and healthcare teams
- Help update and implement care plans
- Ensure a clean, safe, and homely environment throughout the shift
- Offer emotional support and companionship
