Job Overview

Full-time and part-time positions are available for the role of Senior Clinical Clinician (Band 6) within the Harrogate Adult Crisis Resolution and Intensive Home Treatment Team. These permanent roles are based in Ripon and serve adult populations across Harrogate, Ripon, Knaresborough, Wetherby, and surrounding areas.

The team operates 24/7 on a 12-hour shift pattern, offering a collaborative and recovery-oriented approach driven by shared decision-making. Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, and Social Workers with current registration (NMC, HCPC, or SWE) and at least 18 months of post-qualification experience, including completion of a preceptorship or competency framework, are invited to apply.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The role involves:

  • Coordinating shifts, triaging and assessing referrals, managing risks, and developing safety plans.
  • Collaborating with internal and external agencies.
  • Managing gatekeeping admissions to acute wards and supporting bed management.
  • Providing clinical leadership for junior team members and students.
  • Developing clinical skills within a multidisciplinary team and ensuring effective resource utilization.

The team forms part of the All Age 24hr Crisis Response Line/NHS 111 Option 2 service and plays a key role in acute care planning and service user support.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Current professional registration with an approved body.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
  • Recognized sign-off mentor, clinical educator, or equivalent (to be completed within an agreed timescale).
  • Clinical Supervisor.
  • At least 18 months of post-qualification experience, including the completion of a preceptorship or competency framework.
  • Proficiency in literacy, numeracy, and IT (equivalent to ITQ Level 2).

Skills

  • Leadership and prioritization within a team.
  • Effective communication of complex and sensitive information to stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, taking on care coordination responsibilities.

Experience

  • Significant experience working with individuals with mental ill health.
  • Collaboration with service users, families, and carers.

Desirable Criteria

  • Demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Provision of clinical supervision in professional settings.

Trust Welcome Day

New starters will attend an in-person Trust Welcome Day at the Flatts Lane Centre, Middlesbrough, on the first or third Monday of the month. For certain clinical roles, this may include up to nine days of face-to-face training.
