Requirements
- Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
- Strong experience with clinical and healthcare datasets
- Hands-on expertise in OMOP CDM, SQL, DBT, or similar transformation tools
- Solid grasp of statistical analysis, machine learning, and BI tools like SQL, Python, or R
- Ability to guide non-specialists through complex insights
- Confident working under pressure while juggling priorities
- Experience influencing change through national or NHS healthcare data policy
Salary Details
Annual salary ranges from £53,755 to £60,504, aligned with NHS pay bands. This full-time post offers pension options and additional NHS benefits.
About the Role
This is a chance to step into a high-impact data science position with a team that shapes how healthcare data is used for real-world change. As a Senior Data Analyst, you’ll lead advanced analytics projects within the Secure Data Environment initiative, driving better care through evidence-based insights. You’ll mentor junior staff, build robust data pipelines, and deliver predictive models that influence decisions across clinical, operational, and research settings.
They’re looking for someone who can see beyond the numbers. You’ll be the go-to expert turning massive datasets into tools for transformation, collaborating with people who want to make healthcare smarter, safer, and more proactive.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead high-quality data transformation using OMOP and ETL frameworks to standardise healthcare data
- Design secure pipelines that handle structured and unstructured datasets for research and service planning
- Mentor team members, uplifting their technical and analytical confidence
- Take charge in key meetings as the face of the data science team, helping shape strategy
- Support Real World Evidence (RWE) development by aligning data solutions with clinical goals
- Drive predictive modelling and trend analysis for future-focused decision-making
- Enable smoother collaboration with academic and commercial partners
