Requirements
- 5 GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above) including English and Maths.
- Experience in health or social care (paid or voluntary).
- A genuine interest in developing a career in healthcare and supporting others.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team-based environment.
- Commitment to learning and achieving the Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker qualification.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and respect for NHS values.
Salary Details
This apprenticeship is paid at Band 2 equivalent on the NHS Agenda for Change, offering £24,465 per annum (pro rata) with full employee benefits.
About the Role
As a Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprentice, you’ll play a vital role in patient care while gaining the skills and confidence to grow within the NHS. You’ll deliver personal and clinical support under supervision, helping patients with mobility, nutrition, hygiene, and emotional wellbeing. You’ll also record vital observations such as temperature and pulse, ensuring safety and comfort at every step.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personal and clinical care under supervision to maintain patient comfort and safety.
- Support mobility, nutrition, and hygiene, ensuring dignity and compassion in every interaction.
- Take and record patient observations accurately to support clinical decision-making.
- Promote infection control and privacy, creating a safe and respectful environment.
- Engage in study and assessments to complete the Level 3 apprenticeship.
- Contribute to a positive team environment, sharing ideas and supporting colleagues.
