Requirements

  • Postgraduate level education or equivalent in ICT or related field
  • Minimum 5 years experience in database management in a complex environment
  • Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server including advanced coding and administration
  • Proven skills in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence systems
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non IT staff
  • Track record of leading projects and mentoring colleagues

Salary Details

This post is offered at Band 8a, with a salary between £47,810 and £54,710 per year in line with NHS Agenda for Change.

About the Role

The successful candidate will lead on developing, managing, and maintaining the Trust’s Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence systems. This includes ensuring the integration of the new Oracle Health (Cerner) system into the Trust’s infrastructure. The role combines technical expertise with leadership, requiring advanced skills in SQL, Data Warehousing, and web based technologies. Day to day, you’ll be building and improving reporting systems, offering guidance to colleagues, and making sure that complex data is turned into practical insights. This is a chance to put your skills into a role where the outputs directly influence patient care and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain information systems that support critical Trust services
  • Ensure integration of Oracle Health (Cerner) into the Data Warehouse
  • Produce and refine datasets that enable effective decision making
  • Lead on reporting development using advanced tools and methods
  • Recommend improvements that streamline processes and increase efficiency
  • Mentor and coach junior team members to build long term capability
  • Act as specialist adviser to colleagues and external partners on database and reporting systems
