Job Summary

The Senior QA Analyst plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of internally developed healthcare systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding user journeys and functional requirements, developing and implementing test plans and test cases, and contributing to the overall success of software projects.

This role involves collaboration with Business Analysts, Test Engineers, and Developers to uphold high-quality standards throughout the software development lifecycle.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Work closely with Business Analysts to understand user journeys and functional requirements for healthcare applications.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and test cases, ensuring coverage of all relevant scenarios.
  • Execute tests across multiple platforms and devices to validate functionality.
  • Create and maintain regression test packs to ensure new updates do not impact existing functionalities.
  • Support the test team in delivering QA responsibilities and foster a collaborative environment for efficient testing processes.
  • Collaborate with developers to identify and resolve issues, contributing to the overall success of projects.
  • Report progress and issues to the Test Manager, providing clear updates on testing status.
  • Detect and resolve issues promptly to maintain the reliability of healthcare systems.
  • Stay updated with the latest testing techniques and software, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Acquire new skills that enhance the QA team’s capabilities.

Person Specification

Qualifications / Professional Registration

Essential

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent, with additional specialist knowledge acquired through a postgraduate diploma or equivalent relevant experience.

Experience and Knowledge

Essential

  • Previous experience in a QA role.
  • Experience writing test plans that cover functional and non-functional scenarios.
  • Experience writing formal test cases.
  • Experience logging and retesting defects in a defect management system.
  • Experience with automation testing or a willingness to learn.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.

Desirable

  • Experience modifying or developing automation scripts.
  • Experience writing SQL.
  • Knowledge of or experience in coaching and mentoring practices and tools.
  • Knowledge of or experience with quality improvement tools, techniques, and methods.
