Requirements
- BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent in Respiratory and Sleep
- Registered with AHCS or HCPC (or registration in progress)
- ARTP Part 1 & 2 or Practitioner status
- Post-registration experience in respiratory diagnostics
- Strong mentorship or training experience
- Confident with complex respiratory test interpretation
- Background in sleep physiology is a plus
Salary Details
The post is banded between £47,810 to £54,710, based on experience and qualifications. This includes access to all core NHS benefits, pension, and training support.
About the Role
You’ll be the go-to specialist for all things respiratory and sleep diagnostics, working across Maidstone Hospital, Tunbridge Wells Hospital, and the new Community Diagnostic Centre. This isn’t just about running tests. It’s about transforming how care is delivered to people facing serious respiratory challenges.
Every test you conduct will shape clinical decisions and patient journeys. You’ll also take the lead in maintaining high standards across the service, ensuring equipment is precise, procedures are followed, and junior staff are well supported. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality respiratory and sleep tests across acute and community settings
- Interpret complex data and contribute to patient diagnosis
- Calibrate and maintain diagnostic equipment to ensure accuracy
- Support and mentor junior staff to build team capacity
- Contribute to service development and protocol reviews
- Act as a deputy to the principal respiratory physiologist when needed
- Champion quality, safety, and a supportive team culture
