Job Summary
Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is seeking a motivated and experienced Digital Transformation Senior Test Analyst to join its newly established Digital Transformation Team.
Working under the Digital Transformation Programme Manager and in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Clinical Systems Managers, the successful candidate will contribute to improving digital outcomes for patients and healthcare services.
The role involves planning and executing testing cycles within complex digital transformation projects. The ideal candidate must have in-depth knowledge of software testing methodologies, excellent communication skills, and strong organisational abilities.
This role plays a critical role in supporting the implementation of key digital transformation project objectives in line with the Health Board’s CTM 2030 strategy.
Note: Welsh language skills are desirable; applications are welcome from both Welsh and English speakers.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project test strategies for digital transformation initiatives within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.
- Provide specialist advice, support, and planning on software testing within various Digital & Data projects.
- Ensure that applications perform to user and clinician requirements.
- Conduct testing in accordance with Cwm Taf Morgannwg Test Framework policies, processes, and procedures.
- Perform load testing, automation testing, and SQL-based defect investigations.
- Collaborate with operational and clinical teams to optimise software performance.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Training
Essential:
- Degree in an IT-related subject or equivalent experience in technical support, service management, or business analysis.
- ISTQB Expert in Software Testing or equivalent experience.
Desirable:
- PRINCE2 Foundation in Project Management.
- Knowledge of PRINCE2 project management and development programmes.
Knowledge & Skills
Essential:
- Expertise in software testing methodologies.
- Knowledge of load testing and automation to meet project requirements.
- Strong SQL knowledge for defect investigations.
- Comprehensive understanding of testing processes and their role within the project lifecycle.
- Proficiency in defect management and structured issue resolution.
Desirable:
- Understanding of NHS clinical and administrative IT requirements.
Experience
Essential:
- Extensive experience in managing software testing in highly complex technology-based projects.
- Proven track record in writing and implementing test strategies and plans for complex environments.
Desirable:
- Experience working in an NHS, healthcare, or public sector environment.

- Strong ability to communicate with senior staff on complex business and clinical processes.
- Proactive in identifying and resolving problems.
