Position: Senior Systems Engineer (Ground-Support Systems)

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  1. Computer Systems and Software Development:
  • Lead the development and definition of computer systems and software, emphasizing Safety Critical Functions and threat analysis.
  • Apply working knowledge and principles of Mil-Hdk-516 Section 15 Software airworthiness.
  1. Open Mission Systems Architecture:
  • Drive the definition and development of open mission systems architecture standards.
  • Identify weapon system cyber (IA) boundaries, define security controls for each boundary, and ensure alignment with Intelligence Community Directive 503 Risk Management Framework.
  1. Interoperability and Network Development:
  • Develop and coordinate comprehensive weapon system interoperability exchange requirements.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge in managing the development of state-of-the-art, secure, resilient, interoperable, and scalable ground-support system networks.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 15 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s in a related field; 13 years with a Master’s; or 10 years with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in a related field.
  • Knowledge and experience in establishing, building, fielding, and sustaining secure, trusted, core processing architectures and networks.
  • Expertise in managing the development of advanced, secure, resilient, interoperable, and scalable ground-support system networks.
  • Support the development and review of documentation per DoDI 5000.02.
  • Assist in executing the USAF Airworthiness process following MIL-HDBK-516 and AFMCI 63-1201 processes.
  • Contribute to the implementation of Air Force Integrity Programs.
  • Support requirements development, allocation, and verification.
  • Review and evaluate weapon system design, analyses, and verification documentation.
  • Analyze equipment and software performance deficiencies, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Support program meetings, working groups, and technical/business reviews.
  • Analyze technical and business data, and present program briefs.
  • Support development of contract and documentation changes and updates.
  • Participate in source selections in a technical advisory role as needed.
  • Hold an active TS/SCI clearance.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Ten years of broad, proven experience in government or industry leadership roles on major ACAT I aircraft development programs.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in Special Access Program (SAP).
