Requirements

  • Some clinical experience – especially if you’ve worked directly with patients

Salary Details

This post falls under NHS Band 3, following the Agenda for Change pay scale, with enhancements for unsocial hours where applicable.

About the Role

This is a real chance to do impactful work within a supportive NHS setting. You’ll be on the frontline of a growing sleep diagnostics service, helping patients in Somerset sleep better and breathe easier. Your day might start with prepping a home sleep study kit and end with walking someone through how to use it—by phone or face to face. You’ll also help assess data, clean equipment, and assist with clinics and patient bookings. It’s a mix of practical, technical, and people skills, all rolled into one rewarding role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support sleep study setup and explain tests to patients in person or over the phone
  • Conduct basic assessments including questionnaires and physical measurements
  • Prepare and check diagnostic equipment for home use
  • Clean, download, and assess sleep study data
  • Handle patient admin tasks, book appointments, manage daily clinic flow
  • Help maintain labs and prep for upcoming patients
  • Contribute to developing a new, patient-centred community sleep service
