About the Role
This role sits within the Countywide Fostering Recruitment Team in Kidlington. It suits someone who enjoys meeting people and helping them prepare for fostering. The work blends assessment, guidance and relationship building. It also calls for curiosity because every prospective carer brings a different story.
You’ll use social care insight to help families understand fostering and what children need. You’ll guide them through the early stages, from the first visit to the Skills to Foster programme. You’ll support events and training sessions with the team. This contributes to fostering support, social care excellence and overall service growth. Some sessions run out of hours so a bit of flexibility helps.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess prospective foster carers so children are matched with safe nurturing homes
- Complete initial home visits to help families understand the fostering journey
- Deliver the Skills to Foster programme so new carers feel well prepared
- Keep assessments on time and high quality to support smooth decision making
- Join events and training to help raise awareness and increase the number of carers
- Join group supervision and reflective practice to keep learning and improving
- Work with managers to shape services that benefit carers and young people
