Position Overview
Leeds City Council is seeking compassionate and qualified Social Workers to join the ENE Community Social Work team. You’ll be part of a dedicated service focused on enhancing lives in Leeds, empowering individuals to remain independent for as long as possible, and helping to make Leeds a city where everyone can age comfortably. This role requires engagement within Adult Social Care (ASC) to assist individuals in achieving their personal goals and to support the community.
About the Role
As a Social Worker within Leeds’ Adult Social Care, your work will involve managing a range of cases, some complex, using a strengths-based approach. You will coordinate with other professionals to provide holistic support and use policies and frameworks like the Leeds Adult Social Care Strengths and Asset-Based Practice Framework. The role includes case assessment, planning, and support, as well as overseeing and revising plans based on service users’ needs, in collaboration with Senior Social Workers and Team Managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Case Management: Handle a mixed caseload with assessments, reviews, and safeguarding interventions for adults and families.
- Community Engagement: Build partnerships with service users, carers, and local communities to promote independence and well-being.
- Collaboration: Work closely with health and social care professionals to provide integrated, effective care.
- Safeguarding: Conduct risk assessments and respond to situations requiring immediate attention to ensure user safety.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, concise case records and reports, ensuring adherence to data protection policies.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualifications: Professional Social Work qualifications (BSc, BA, MA, DipSW, CQSW) and registration with Social Work England.
- Experience: Knowledge of Adult Social Care legislation and previous work in a multidisciplinary environment are advantageous.
- Skills: Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills; commitment to promoting equity and diversity.
