Requirements
- Degree-level education or equivalent experience
- Strong background in systems integration, applications development, and database design
- Hands-on experience with HL7 messaging in hospital or health system environments
- Proficiency in SQL Server, BizTalk, Visual Basic, C#, XML, and related integration tools
- Understanding of communication protocols including TCP/IP, MLLP, HTTPS, and FTP
- Ability to manage customer and supplier contact with clear communication skills
- Flexible and adaptable approach to changing project demands

About the Role
The Software Integration Specialist will play a hands-on part in developing, testing, and maintaining system interfaces that connect the Patient Administration System with hospital and community health systems. They’ll ensure seamless data flow across platforms that directly impacts patient care. Working alongside IT, clinical staff, and external suppliers, they’ll take ownership of integration projects, problem solving, and 3rd line support to guarantee near-100% system availability.
This position is perfect for someone who enjoys digging into complex technical challenges while knowing their work directly shapes better outcomes for patients. Each integration project completed not only sharpens technical expertise but also strengthens the health system’s ability to deliver safe and efficient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver system integration development to support health operations
- Provide 3rd line support for integration engines and bespoke systems, ensuring reliability
- Create and maintain clear technical and user documentation to support continuity
- Manage upgrades and deployments to keep systems robust and future ready
- Collaborate across IT, clinical, and supplier teams to keep interfaces functioning smoothly
- Contribute to innovation by testing new solutions and raising system performance
