Job Description

The Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated Student Nursing Associate Apprentice to join various teams. This apprenticeship is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience and a solid foundation for future careers in nursing. The successful candidate will be enrolled in a high-quality training program provided in partnership with Leeds Trinity University.

During the 24-month apprenticeship, the apprentice will be employed as a Band 3 Student Nursing Associate and will be expected to develop the competencies required to fulfill the role by the end of the training period. Upon successful completion, the apprentice will progress to a Band 4 Nursing Associate.

Main duties include:

  • Delivering high-quality, compassionate care under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
  • Developing clinical competence, leadership, and reflective practice skills.
  • Working as part of a clinical and care team to meet the direct needs of individuals.
  • Attending study days and completing the required learning hours for the Nursing Associate Training Programme.
  • Providing feedback to assist in evaluating the apprenticeship program.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Level 2 NVQ in health-related studies.
  • Level 2 Maths and English (GCSE Grades 4-9 or Grades A-C, or equivalent).
  • Experience of delivering care in a mental health or learning disability setting.
  • Alignment with NHS values, including caring, simplicity, and integrity.

Duration and Location

  • Duration: 24 months (Apprenticeship)
  • Location: Various sites in Leeds

Compensation

  • Salary: £22,816 – £24,336 per annum

Other Details

  • The applicant must have been a UK resident for a minimum of 3 years and have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the apprenticeship.
  • Sponsorship for work in the UK is not available for apprenticeship roles.
