Requirements:

  • Previous experience in the care sector (mental health experience preferred)
  • Care Certificate (must be achieved within first 12 weeks of employment)
  • NVQ L2/3 H&SC or Diploma L2/3 in H&SC or apprenticeship L2/3 in H&SC
  • Ability to travel independently
  • Strong motivation and interest in mental health issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

About the Role

As a Clinical Support Worker at Foxhall House, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting individuals with mental health conditions. This position is part of the trust’s Secure Services Team, specifically within their Inpatient service, which is a low secure unit. You’ll be working with service users who are referred from various sources, including other secure units, the Ministry of Justice, and national offender management services.

The role focuses on providing recovery-oriented care through Treatment, Therapy, and Support. Your goal will be to help service users return to well-being and independence in the community. This involves offering personal support in a person-centered and holistic manner, always keeping Relational Security at the forefront of your approach.

Relational Security is more than just having a ‘good relationship’ with service users. It’s about developing safe, effective, professional, therapeutic, and purposeful relationships with understood limits. Your role will be pivotal in creating an environment where service users can recover and thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and support to service users, addressing their individual needs and requirements
  • Assist in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans
  • Participate in therapeutic activities and group sessions
  • Monitor and report on service users’ mental and physical health status
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care
  • Adhere to all safety and security protocols within the low secure setting
  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development
  • Support service users in developing life skills and independence
  • Contribute to a positive and therapeutic ward environment
